LES EYZIES DE TAYAC
In Les Eyzies, the world capital of prehistory, Cazelle is one of the most impressive sites of this rich heritage. Come and discover in this striking prehistoric park, the many scenes reconstituting the life of our ancestors, thus plunging you chronologically from Prehistory, to the Middle Ages when the site was dug and converted into a real fortified castle, and until 1966 when a couple of farmers still occupied a monolithic house entirely carved into the rock.
You will walk along the steep cliffs of Cazelle, entirely excavated by caves, refuges, underground passages and habitats in which countless tools and weapons carved by prehistoric men were collected 12,000 years ago… traditional habitat has been reconstituted there, faithful to the habits and local Périgord history and with the constant concern to preserve the spirit of the place and its past.
