BEYNAC ET CAZENAC
The Castle of Beynac and its village staggered on 150m of cliff is certainly the most imposing site of all Périgord, this panorama can not be contemplated as a whole that of the Dordogne.
This walk, commented in French (with written explanations in other European languages) will introduce you to the history, culture and local customs.
It is aboard a gabarre, replica of a boat of the 19th century, that you relive the epic of the barge on the Dordogne, the last century, immortalized in the soap opera “The River Hope”. The setting is exceptional at the foot of the castle and the village of Beynac, going up to the Castle of Castelnaud, with beautiful views of the castles of Fayrac, Marqueyssac and Lacoste.
